Oct 4, 2022 • Review of Fujifilm XF 56mm F1.2 R WR 31 It has became my tradition to make a side by side comparison test when I am replacing one of my existing lens with a new one of same focal length. Designed for the X Series of mirrorless digital cameras. Fast prime lens with the 56mm mid-telephoto focal length. Perfect for portraits, weddings & table-top photography. Incredibly wide, bright & fast f1.2 maximum aperture. Premium construction with 13 elements in 8 groups. Includes 1xED element & 2x aspherical elements. The Fujifilm XF 56mm F1.2 R is a very fast short telephoto prime lens in Fujifilm's XF line-up. The Fujifilm 56mm F1.2 lens offers an angle-of-view similar to that of a 84mm lens in a 35mm system, well-suited to head-and-shoulder portraits, and a very bright f/1.2 maximum aperture for low-light shooting and throwing the background completely The Fujifilm XF 50mm f/2 R WR lens fits into Fuji’s “XF” range, which denotes it’s a higher quality than the more budget “XC” lenses. The WR in its full name also indicates that it is weather resistant, making it ideal for use with weather resistant Fuji bodies - there are sealing at ten points around the lens barrel. The XF 50mm f/1 is a sharp lens, really sharp. There is a lot of detail rendered from corner to corner, even wide open. Unfortunately, contrast is a bit lower, and other aberrations like coma mean Fujinon 56mm F1.2 R: Super nice bokeh, great lowlight performance, sharp at wide open, but needs more room to operate. Fujinon 35mm F2 WR: Weather-sealed, lightweight, good for street photography, nice contrast out of the lens, but not good for night portraits. Feel free to comment and let us know what your favorite Fujifilm lens is and why! We've been shooting with the Fujinon XF 56mm F1.2 R - the fast 85mm equivalent prime lens for Fujifilm's X mount mirrorless cameras. Its F1.2 aperture means it gives similarly shallow depth-of-field to an 85mm F1.8 lens on a full frame body, making it an useful portrait or low light lens. We also spent time using the X-E2 with an advance version of firmware v2.0 while putting this gallery Although this may not be what you want if you are looking at a flattering portrait lens, the 50mm is sharper and much more contrasty than the 56mm. Personally, for a portrait, I prefer the fall Fujifilm's XF 50mm f2 is a compelling alternative to the XF 56mm f1.2 for anyone who wants a short telephoto lens for portraits or details. Most obviously it's comfortably smaller and lighter than the XF 56mm and around half the price too. It has quicker, quieter and much closer focusing, making it preferred for spontaneous shots, movies and For portrait photographers who shoot on Fujifilm cameras, the XF 56mm f/1.2 R lens is one of the highest quality options, offering great sharpness, an ultra-wide aperture, and smooth bokeh. 4mpmQ.
